Aside from all the laundered money moving through there from UK and US targeted fraud, such as that ongoing by Banners Broker etc. and a large number of other ciminal fraternity... The EU have created a run on the banks in cyprus! What daftness. If you want to collect more tax then you add it to the pay slips and companies of those individuals by local legislation. Errr... okay that's the usual way of doing things but a lot of money arriving in cypriot bank accounts has not really been through a tax system. Ooops. An example of an unusual solution imposed without actuall fixing the underlying issue. Greece? Too early into the EU without eliminating the bulk of the black economy and state corruption and inability to collect tax. Thus EU grants and loans were not invested into capital projects but siphoned off in 'expenses' as per the well known African model.

PS covert government spying.

It seems my blog was woken up by that post I did about the spying the UK government does on the general population, and of which they admin to only taking a sanctioned interest in perhaps a few hundred thousand (compared to the million or so US citizens who are being tracked and traced by their every move). In reference to the Blackberry outage that occured just after the London Riots. Blackberry were forced to hand over thier encryption keys to the US and UK and Canadian goverment spying agencies GCHQ and suchlike and to do this and to cope with the increased 'sniffing' traffic of the newly plugged in spying hardware, they had to have a large service interruption which is still largely unexplained. So encrypted BBM messages and BB mail is now can-opened behind GCHQ firewalls along with myriad facebook and twitter GPS updates.... :-) Sorry I am telling you what you already know, yet refuse to believe.

Time, the old enemy.

It seems that time is a necessary illusion to entrapment.

Example, a person is trapped in the mortgage payments of his house.

It takes a long time to buy his house off the bank.

He feels trapped as a result.

Thus to increase his freedom he would have to earn more money, polish his shoes, learn up on all the latest stuff about his job, do a good job, please the boss then ask for a raise or get promoted.

Now he feels freer as he can pay off his house faster as he has removed some duration of being under the kosh of his bank.

So I need to Blog about news, hmm well there is not a lot of news about at the moment, what with the Newspapers being careful and so on of not upsetting politicians.

For YEARS it's been known that the press do underhanded things such as birbing police (those few that are bribe-able) and tapping and hacking email and voicemail accounts of all and sundry!

Well at some point the Press have pissed off the politicos and they pissed off someone in politics or law over whom they had no leverage by way of blackmail or it was someone the left off thier 'favours' list etc.

Anyway, you might think this is a good thing that all this came out.

Well, it it, the press and journo's should NOT get information by underhanded means! 

Unfortunately now, the press are "towing the line" with governments as to not pi$$ them off for fear of thier job/jail.

The NOTW etc. have sort of got justice but the flipside to all this is that perhaps the press are now being rather 'walking on glass' around political issues whereas 'fair game' idea now has with it reservations...

THE TRUTH IS THAT GOVERNMENTS HACK THE PHONES EMAILS AND INTERNET OF THE GENERAL POPULACE PRETTY MUCH ALL THE TIME.

Now they want to bring out LEGISLATION (SEE SNOOPER BILL) to make LEGAL what they are ALREADY DOING.

And HOW do we know they are already doing it.

Well, "flip of a switch" access to bank accounts, bills, credit card statements, phone bills, emails (where agreements exist with the big companies and ISP's who are given a licence to operate secure email as long as GCHQ gets an decrypted copy of each email - msn, yahoo BBM etc.) etc. are all right now peruse-able by clandestine government.


The Snooper Bills are designed to Legalize what they are already doing so that they can admit it when needed and make data obtained in this fashion, "legal".

WE KNOW THEY ARE DOING THIS BECAUSE OF HOW HARD THEY CAME DOWN ON NEWS OF THE WORD etc.

This, you would think would be a hand-slap offence on the lackeys and journo's who actually DID it.

Since when is 'knowing something is going on' a crime of greater import than the prepetration thereof.

That, my blog friend, is the oddity.

And the oddity exists as per the reason above.

Meteorite kerfuffle.

This meteorite thingy that lots of people saw the other night over Scotland and parts of England sounds like a fun thing to see.  I have seen a couple of meteorites burn out just above the earth's surface.  I was aboout 280 metres from where one came out the sky vertically and I was in a tower block and watched one burn out seeimingly on a horizontal track, about 600 metres from the balcony I was standing on.

Some okay videos online about this one, but no professional imagery of it.

Egypt

Seems like the dictatorships that are about are getting it in the neck as they are clearly being seen as manipulative and corrupt, as the method of government implies.

There are varying degrees of Mugabe-ism...

Good on the Egyptians standing up and making thier voices known.

Whats uncouth is thier endangerment of thier tourism legacy in pilfering of national treasures.

Clearly not the brightest of folks if they are endangering one of thier mose lucrative income lines for Foreign Exchange - Tourism.
